My sister’s estranged common-law husband used to work in an oil rig and was assigned in Nigeria for a brief period of time. He was a safety engineer and his job requires him to ensure the safety of oil rig personnel from all possible type of accidents that may endanger human lives.

Part of his job is to report Offshore Injury acquired by personnel  such as head injury and burn injury so injured personnel will be entitled to proper remuneration and benefits. They also ensure support to the operation, guidelines and industry standard.

My sister’s ex received quite a large sum when he retired a few years ago. Too bad that he did not take care of his earnings properly and neglected his responsibility to his family.
