Hypertension continues to be one of the leading causes of death all over the world. Aside from popping a pill to keep your blood pressure down, there are some natural alternatives you might want to consider in order to maintain that blood pressure at a safe level:
Take a walk. Exercise helps lower your blood pressure, but if you can’t find time to hit the gym, you can always opt for power walks. Try to take one-hour walks around the block three times a week to keep your heart safely pumping.
Turn to music. With all the daily stressors you face you have to find some form of relaxation to balance things out. Listen to your favorite calming music to get your heart rate down.
Switch to decaf. If you must have your coffee on a daily basis, choose the decaf variety, as too much caffeine takes its toll on your heart.
Pick potassium. Potassium is said to relax blood vessels, and it balances out the effects of sodium. Go for a diet rich in bananas, potatoes, and tomatoes.
my husband have hypertension already, and he is only 34 yrs old. So im keeping close tab on his diet and like you said exercise is a must to keep the heart pumping.
