Towel Talk

Have you ever noticed that hotels only use white towels? I am no frequent traveler but in the times we were able to do so and have to stay in hotels, that is something that I observed. It makes me wonder now if there is a reason behind.

I googled and here are the reasons why hotels and even households go for white towels.

• There is less sorting. When all the towels are white, you can simply put them all together in the washer.
• White never goes out of style and goes with anything. It is classic and modern.
• Whites never fade. Colored towels tend to fade after how many washes.
• Whites are more sanitary because you can bleach them. It gives you assurance that they are clean, even the tiniest fabric.

Now that makes me ditch our colored towels and just go with whites. I will check out The White Company’s collection and place an order soon.

Keep safe while celebrating the holidays

To welcome the New Year with a complete set of hands and intact limbs is a nice present to yourself and your loved ones. This holds true for people who couldn’t help but light fireworks and firecrackers to celebrate the New Year.

Recently the Department of Health issued an advisory reminding the public against the dangers of lighting fireworks and firecrackers. Under the firework-injury reduction campaign dubbed “Aksyon: Paputok Injury Reduction” or APIR (Give me five), the DOH reiterates suggestions to keep safe while celebrating the holidays.

1) Fireworks cause injuries and endanger health (Mapanganib ang paggamit ng paputok)
2) Children should not use any fireworks (Lahat ng paputok ay bawal sa bata)
3) Keep safe and away from exploding fireworks (Umiwas sa mga taong nagpapaputok)
4) Never pick used fireworks (Huwag mamulot ng mga di sumabog na paputok)
5) Seek immediate medical treatment for all firework injuries (Magpagamot kaagad kapag naputukan)

Everyone deserves to be happy and safe so don’t do anything foolish to endanger the lives of other people and yours as well. Keep safe and welcome 2012 with positive thoughts.

Covered

Our children’s health and safety is probably the top priority of us, mothers. Whatever they do, we want them to be always safe and unharmed. This is the main reason we spend time and effort in baby-proofing our homes. We call the electrician to make sure all switchplate covers are intact and not lose because crawling babies love to explore! We install mats almost everywhere to make sure they will not hit their head on the hard floor. And sometimes, we ditch our own comfort just to ensure safety. I know several families who have stopped using bed frames to avoid their children from falling!

Yes, moms and dads alike will surely do everything to make sure their kids are covered.
